Practical guides to business success

Strategy and Management are perhaps the two greatest distinguishing factors between reasonable businesses and great businesses. They probably have a greater impact on the performance and value of a business than anything else. Unfortunately, compared with finance, marketing, sales and other aspects of business that can be more easily learned or outsourced, Strategy and Management remain, for many, anything but straightforward.

Where so many of the existing books on Strategy and Management tend to be more theoretical, complicated or analytical, these books present a straightforward “how-to” on the subject. They provide a set of practical steps that any business leader can implement quickly to enhance their core strategy and to get the best from their team; in turn dramatically increasing the value of their business. Whether the owner of a Small Business, or a Senior Executive in a large Corporation, these books will provide a valuable tool.

Coach Andrew Laurie | Building Great Businesses

Meet the Author

Andrew has built an exceptional record of achievement in business as well as a unique breadth of non-business experience. He built a billion-dollar business in the UK.  He then grew one of the most successful business coaching companies in Australia, before selling it in 2017. He taught management and strategy at Sydney Business School and was, in 2023, 22, 21, 20 and 18 recognized as the Global Executive Coach of the Year.  He’s published four books and countless of his clients have built great businesses and, through that, are leading great lives.

Andrew’s primary focus is now his family, but he still actively pursues his passion for sport and adventure. Much of his time is spent rock climbing, skiing, sailing and playing cricket.  He was a Professional Mountain Guide, has run Ultra-Marathons around the World, has played cricket to a professional level and once rode his bike, alone, across the Nullarbor Plain.  Over the last 20 years, he has also worked with a wide range of charities, primarily focussed on helping young Australians achieve more in life.  In 2015-16, he was President of the Rotary Club of Sydney, leading about 50 service projects across all streams of Rotary service.

Having seen and experienced what a great business can deliver to its owner, its staff, its customers and the community around it, Andrew wanted to find a way to deliver that to thousands of businesses.  Identifying the membership model as the best combination of community, systems, planning and accountability to deliver those results, he needed someone to work with to build the business around it.  Stephen had been a client for 7 or 8 years, they knew each other well and Stephen clearly knew how to build a great business; it was the ideal match to help thousands of business owners build a great business in order to lead a great life.
