Every coach says their clients get amazing results. Most of them are lying with a smile.

“Ten times your revenue in 30 days.” “Double your profits by next quarter.” “Work 10 hours a week and make a million dollars.”

None of it’s real. And more importantly, if a coach is promising it, run.

Here’s what real business coaching results look like.

We’ve been coaching Australian business owners since 2015. Over 300 of them. We measure what matters.

41% average revenue growth. Not 10x. Not doubled. On average, clients in our program grow revenue by 41% in the first year. Some grow faster. Some grow slower. But 41% is the middle.

That’s real. That’s measurable. That’s what happens when you stop running on instinct and start running on structure.

60% fewer after-hours interruptions. Most owners check their phone at night because their team doesn’t make decisions. Something comes up, the owner’s got to approve it. The owner’s needed for everything.

Sixty percent fewer interruptions means 60% of the things the team was interrupting you about, they’re now handling themselves. You still get interrupted, but not for every call.

That’s freedom. Not total freedom, but real freedom.

Team decision-making improving in 90 days. A lot of this happens fast. Within three months, the team starts making better calls because they understand why you make the calls you do. They’ve been trained. They’ve got the framework. They start thinking like owners.

This isn’t a one-off. It compounds. Month 3 looks different from month 6, which looks different from month 12.

What Results You Should NOT Believe

The problem with the coaching industry is that there’s no accountability. Some coach claims their clients make a million dollars in six months and nobody checks. Nobody verifies.

Here are the red flags on fake results:

“Guaranteed results.” No legitimate coach guarantees results. Because results depend on you. Your effort, your team, your willingness to change. A coach can show you the path. You have to walk it.

Extreme speed. “Double your revenue in 90 days.” “Work 4 hours a week and hit six figures.” If it sounds like fantasy, it’s because it is. Real growth takes time. Real freedom takes work first.

No specifics. If a coach talks about results but can’t show you percentages, time frames, or specific metrics — they’re selling hope, not coaching.

Social proof that’s too clean. “All our clients hit their goals.” Nope. Some do. Some don’t. Some quit. Real coaching has real outcomes, including the ones that don’t work.

No data. If a coach can’t show you their actual results from actual clients, they don’t have results. They have testimonials. Testimonials are easy to fake. Data is harder.

How to Evaluate Whether Coaching Is Working

After three months, you should be seeing something. Not your final result, but movement.

Money metrics: Is revenue growing or stable? Is margin improving? If neither is happening, coaching isn’t fixing your business — you might not be listening, or the coach might not be giving you the right framework.

Time metrics: Are you doing less? Working fewer hours? Fewer after-hours emergencies? If you’re just as busy and stretched as you were before, something’s not working.

Team metrics: Is the team making better decisions? Are they taking on more without needing approval? Is leadership quality improving? This is the lead indicator of everything else.

Your clarity: Do you know what’s working and what’s not? Can you explain your business in three sentences? Do you have a clear next step? Coaching should make these things sharper, not foggier.

If none of these are happening at three months, you either need a different coach or you’re not applying what the coach is giving you.

What’s Actually Happening

Good coaching isn’t magical. It’s three things:

First, an outside perspective. You’re in it. You can’t see what’s obvious from outside. A coach sees where you’re spinning your wheels.

Second, structure. Not a philosophy. Not a nice idea. An actual system — meetings, frameworks, metrics, accountability. The structure forces you to think differently.

Third, accountability. You show up and report what you said you’d do. If you didn’t, you own it. If you did, you own that too. Most owners never have that. It changes things.

None of it works without your effort. But if you show up and do the work, the results come.

The Measurement Question

Here’s the test for any coach: Can they show you the data?

Not testimonials. Not case studies. Not “clients love me.” Data. Before, during, after. Revenue. Margin. Team size. Hours worked. Specific metrics.

If they can’t show you data, they’re not actually measuring results. They’re selling confidence.

Real coaching is measurable. If it’s not measurable, it’s not working.
